Job summary

Coherent Corp. is seeking a Diploma-qualified Maintenance Technician to perform preventive maintenance and routine servicing of Front of Line production equipment in Malaysia.

You will inspect, calibrate, and test machines, monitor reliability metrics, and collaborate with Production, Process Engineering, and Quality teams to prevent downtime. The role requires troubleshooting and documentation skills, with knowledge of fiber-optic handling and relevant test equipment considered a plus.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Electrical/Electronics, Mechanical Engineering, or related discipline.
• At least one year of experience in equipment maintenance, preventive maintenance, testing, or manufacturing engineering.
• Experience in troubleshooting, configuring, and maintaining production equipment or test systems.
• Knowledge of fiber-optic handling, splicing, termination is a plus.
• Basic SPC/statistical analysis knowledge and good documentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled preventive maintenance on Front of Line production equipment per plans and safety rules.
• Inspect, clean, lubricate, calibrate, and test machines for reliability and performance.
• Monitor equipment conditions and identify wear or early signs of failure.
• Troubleshoot faults and implement corrective actions to minimize downtime.
• Record maintenance results and update equipment history and spare-parts usage.
• Collaborate with Production, Process Engineering, Quality and other teams to resolve issues.
