Job summary

We are looking for an experienced Production Director to lead our manufacturing operations across two factories in Kulim, located within the Kulim Industrial Estate (KIE) and Kulim Hi Tech Park (KHTP), with a combined workforce of approximately 900 employees.

Where you’ll make a difference

In this role, you’ll provide strategic and operational leadership for end-to-end-glove manufacturing operations across two factories, aligned with the Gloves Operations strategy.

Here’s how you’ll make an impact in this role:

  • Develop and execute clear manufacturing strategies aligned with the company’s goals and objectives.
  • Lead site manufacturing operations, with accountability for operational performance, capital expenditure, operating expenditure, and capacity requirements.
  • Drive operational excellence by improving quality, cost, delivery, productivity, and manufacturing efficiency.
  • Identify and implement process improvements, new technologies, and best practices to optimise workflows and reduce costs.
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Supply Chain, Quality Assurance, Procurement, and other cross-functional teams to ensure seamless manufacturing operations.
  • Develop and manage a high-performing team through effective recruitment, coaching, development, and performance management.
  • Develop and manage strategic plans and budgets to achieve short- and long-term operational and financial objectives.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety requirements, quality management systems, the Corporate Code of Conduct, relevant laws, and industry regulations.
  • Foster a culture of innovation, continuous improvement, employee engagement, and organisational development.

Education
  • Bachelor or Master’s degree in Manufacturing /Operations related subject.
Experience
  • Proven track record in leading and managing large-scale manufacturing operations, preferably within the gloves or latex industry.
  • Strong leadership and people management skills, with the ability to motivate, develop and inspire diverse, high-performing teams.
  • Proven experience in developing and executing manufacturing strategies that drive operational excellence and achieve business objectives.
  • In-depth knowledge of manufacturing processes, technologies, Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills, with the ability to analyse complex issues and implement effective solutions.
  • Strong understanding of regulatory requirements, quality management systems, and Health & Safety standards within regulated manufacturing environments.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders at all levels.
  • Ability to thrive in fast-paced and changing environments, manage competing priorities and deliver results under pressure.
