Job summary

Volo Active Resources in Kulim, Malaysia, is seeking an experienced Operations Manager to lead our medical consumables and devices manufacturing facility. You will drive production efficiency, quality, cost targets, and regulatory compliance across the plant.

The role requires 10+ years in manufacturing/quality with 5+ in leadership, strong cross-functional capabilities, and willingness to travel to Indonesia and other regional sites.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field.
  • Minimum 10 years of manufacturing/operations/quality management experience.
  • At least 5 years in a leadership/managerial role.
  • Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, quality systems, and regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities

  • Lead day-to-day manufacturing operations to achieve production, quality, delivery, and cost targets.
  • Develop and execute operational strategies to enhance productivity and plant performance.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, quality standards, and company policies.
  • Establish and continuously improve Quality Management Systems (QMS).
  • Monitor KPIs and drive corrective/preventive actions for improvements.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop production and operational teams; promote accountability and continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate with Supply Chain, Engineering, Quality Assurance, Regulatory Affairs, and Sales to ensure seamless operations.
  • Ensure HSE compliance and promote a safe workplace.
  • Identify and implement Lean, automation, and waste-reduction initiatives.
  • Support strategic planning, capacity expansion, and readiness for growth.
  • Oversee and support operations in Indonesia and regional facilities as required.

About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced and results-driven Operations Manager to lead the manufacturing operations of our medical consumables and medical devices facility. This strategic leadership position is responsible for driving operational excellence, manufacturing efficiency, product quality, regulatory compliance, and continuous improvement initiatives across the organization.

The ideal candidate possesses extensive experience in manufacturing operations, quality management, or operational leadership within highly regulated industries, preferably medical devices, healthcare, or pharmaceuticals. The successful candidate must be capable of leading multicultural teams while ensuring the achievement of production, quality, cost, and delivery objectives.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and manage day-to-day manufacturing operations to achieve production, quality, delivery, and cost targets.

Develop and execute operational strategies that enhance productivity, efficiency, capacity utilization, and overall plant performance.

Ensure all manufacturing processes comply with applicable regulatory requirements, quality standards, and company policies.

Establish, maintain, and continuously improve Quality Management Systems (QMS) to ensure consistent delivery of high-quality products.

Monitor operational performance through key performance indicators (KPIs) and implement corrective and preventive actions to drive improvements.

Lead, mentor, and develop production and operational teams while fostering a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and operational excellence.

Collaborate closely with Supply Chain, Logistics, Engineering, Quality Assurance, Regulatory Affairs, and Sales teams to ensure seamless business operations.

Ensure full compliance with Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) regulations while promoting a safe and healthy workplace.

Identify and implement process improvement, automation, lean manufacturing, and waste reduction initiatives.

Support strategic planning, capacity expansion, and operational readiness for future business growth.

Oversee and support operational activities in Indonesia and other regional facilities as required.

Requirements

Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality Assurance, Industrial Engineering, Operations Management, or a related field.

Minimum 10 years of manufacturing, operations, or quality management experience, including at least 5 years in a leadership or managerial role.

Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, production management, quality systems, and regulatory compliance requirements.

Demonstrated experience leading cross-functional and multicultural teams.

Strong analytical, problem-solving, decision-making, and strategic planning capabilities.

Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and interpersonal skills.

Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Willingness to travel regularly and oversee operations in Indonesia.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in the medical devices, medical consumables, pharmaceutical, healthcare, or other regulated manufacturing industries.

Knowledge of ISO 13485, GMP, FDA regulations, or other relevant medical manufacturing standards.

Certification or practical experience in Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, Kaizen, or Continuous Improvement methodologies.

Strong project management and organizational skills.

High level of integrity, professionalism, accountability, and leadership maturity.
