Job summary

ams OSRAM Opto Semiconductors is seeking a yield-focused professional to own the yield roadmap at the Kulim, Malaysia site. You will coordinate with Front End and Back End teams to drive improvements and safeguard product performance across the value chain.

Responsibilities include defining and owning data for yield performance, root-cause analysis, and acting as the technical interface for customers and internal stakeholders while helping control costs and align with roadmap targets.

• Define and drive yield improvements by analyzing root causes.
• Own systems and data for yield performance and issue identification.
• Ensure product performance with testing ownership (AVI, etc.).
• Own product cost strategies to minimize yield losses.
• Act as the front-line technical contact for Back End, BU and customers.

Job description

The ams OSRAM Opto Semiconductors business offers high-performance opto semiconductor components and in-depth support for state-of-the-art system solutions based on innovative semiconductor light sources. The Business Unit can look back on almost fifty years of production and development expertise.

• Owner of yield: Continuously report and track yield progress against roadmap with all function. Owner of the yield roadmap: rolling 12 months and be accountable that the Front End/ Back End achieve those yield targets.
• Define/drive yield improvements: analyse yield detractors to the root causes, drive improvements with respective process integration and process owners
• Owner of systems and data: Define systems and data required for yield performance, ensure quick identification of issues and root causes, kill ratio analysis and yield improvement methodologies. Owner of product performance / spec: Safeguard product requirements and performance, technical ownership for testing, probing, AVI, etc., owner of product master data.
• Owner of product cost: Owner to define the overall best way to minimize costs due to yield losses across the whole value chain.
• Being the Customer interface: First technical contact for Back End/ Business Unit / Customer related topics.
