Job summary

Nexperia in Malaysia seeks an IC Validation engineer to create validation strategies across hardware, software and instrumentation. You will set up lab benches and design hardware and software to evaluate analog and mixed-signal ICs, and perform system-level and parametric tests with a break-the-part mindset.

You will drive test automation with Python or LabVIEW/Test Stand, document results with traceability, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure device success.

Qualifications

• Masters or PhD in electronics engineering with >3 years in validation and test of Analog ICs.
• Strong fundamental knowledge of electronic circuits.
• Experience with test and measurement equipment.

What you will do

• Create IC Validation strategy in terms of Hardware, Software and Instrumentation.
• Bring up lab set-up and design h/w and s/w to evaluate Analog and mixed signal ICs.
• Test set-up automation using python or other tools like lab-view/test-stand.
• Perform system level and parametric test on bench with strong break the part mentality.
• Debug device and setup related issues and drive the issue to closure independently.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and contribute to device success.
• Responsible for the quality of the bench tests.
• Execution of bench test according char/validation plan.
• Documentation of performed tests and results, guarantee traceability.
• Proper archiving of char/test data and docs.
• Execute tasks according planning, find solutions to keep the planning on track.
• Drive improvements test/char efficiency and quality of the measurements.
• Drive improvement of efficiency and reproducibility (e.g. by automation).
• Development of new bench test methods and bench test hardware.
• Competitor analyses.
• Electrical analysis of application related customer complaints and requests.
• Roadmap/vision/capex: coordinate all equipment related activities e.g. purchase, registration, calibration (tracking & reporting of the calibration status) and maintenance.

What you will need

• Minimum Masters or PhD degree in electronics engineering or related field >3 years of experience in validation and test of Analog ICs.
• Strong fundamental knowledge of electronic circuits.
• Knowledge on test and measurement equipment’s.
• Experience of designing PCB for Analog IC validation.
• Strong time management skills and priority, (flexibility to adjust to international time zones).
• Expertise in automation of lab equipment with Python or LabVIEW & Test Stand etc.
• Knowledge and experience of tester platforms like ETS-88, ETS-364 etc is a plus.
