Job summary

Nexperia is seeking an experienced NPI Director to lead end-to-end industrialization of Assembly and FT technologies in Malaysia. You will manage a team of about 50, drive product ramp from concept to high-volume manufacturing, and optimize value-added through Direct Material decisions.

This role requires strategic partnership with Business Groups and rigorous Design for Excellence. Minimum 15+ years in Semiconductor Assembly/Test with 5–7 years in senior leadership; Master Black Belt in DMAIC;

About The Role

The NPI Director is a high-impact leadership role responsible for the end-to-end industrialization strategy of Assembly and Final Test (FT) technologies. This individual will lead a multidisciplinary organization of ~50 personnel, overseeing the seamless transition of new products from concept to high-volume manufacturing (HVM) while aggressively optimizing the Value Added (MVA) through strategic Direct Material engineering.

What You Will Do

1. Strategic NPI Leadership & Product Lifecycle Management BG Partnership: Serve as the primary strategic partner to Business Groups (BG) during the product architectural phase to ensure Design for Excellence (DFX) and seamless technology transfer. Operational Readiness: Direct the team in executing complex qualifications, ensuring all products meet the \"Gold Standard\" of being Capable, Stable, and Manufacturable ($C_{pk} \geq 1.67$, zero-defect reliability, and optimized OEE). Handshake Governance: Define and enforce the global \"Handshake\" protocols between R&D and Operations to eliminate friction during mass production ramps.

2. Cost Strategy BOM Ecosystem Management: Lead the 2nd source strategy in collaboration with Global Procurement, driving multi-million dollar annual savings through material substitution, localization, and technical benchmarking. Market Intelligence: Conduct deep-dive competitive analysis and market benchmarking to ensure ATSN’s BOM remains the most cost-competitive in the industry.

3. Organizational Excellence & Talent Development Scalable Leadership: Manage a diverse team of ~30 Indirect Labor (IDL) and ~20 Direct Labor (DL) professionals, fostering a culture of high performance and technical rigor. Succession Planning: Identify and groom technical subject matter experts (SMEs) and future leaders, ensuring a robust talent pipeline for the engineering organization.

What You Will Need Experience

Minimum 15+ years of hands‑on experience in Semiconductor Assembly/Test, with at least 5-7 years in a senior leadership role overseeing large‑scale engineering functions.

Expert-level knowledge of advanced packaging technologies, material science, and equipment automation.

Master Black Belt level proficiency in DMAIC / Six Sigma methodologies. Ability to lead \"Crisis Task Forces\" for high‑visibility technical excursions.

Strong financial literacy; ability to link technical engineering decisions to P&L outcomes and MVA performance.

Exceptional executive presence. Ability to influence C‑suite stakeholders, negotiate with global suppliers, and align cross‑functional factory teams.
