Job summary

Jora Malaysia is seeking a Product Development / Technical Project Engineer to research market trends and feed findings into development strategies. You will support project plans, technical objectives, and budgets while assessing technical requirements and scope for electronics or semiconductor projects.

You will translate customer needs into product requirements, review drawings with internal teams, and perform feasibility studies on manufacturability and processes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electronic engineering, E&E Engineering, Physics, or equivalent.
• 3-5 years of experience in electronics or semiconductor manufacturing.
• Hands-on experience with optoelectronics, LEDs/MicroLEDs, lasers, or fiber optics.

Responsibilities

• Conduct market and product trend research to support development and strategy.
• Contribute to project plans, technical objectives and budget.
• Assess technical requirements and project scope through studies and reviews.
• Support RFQ evaluation with technical data for costing and quotation.
• Translate customer needs into product requirements and verify design output.
• Interpret customer drawings and convey technical requirements to engineering/production teams.
• Conduct feasibility studies on manufacturability, materials, and processes.
• Support prototyping, verification/validation, and design reviews.
• Maintain technical documentation and support change control.
• Ensure designs meet standards and regulatory requirements.
• Deliver technical presentations for reviews.
• Provide on-site technical training for the sales team.
• Be hands-on with product development when required.
• Travel to other offices and customer sites as needed.
