Job summary

VAT Group AG is seeking an Engineer in Penang, Malaysia to enhance quality management for high-tech vacuum components. You will work with cross-functional teams to support the product quality plan and respond to customer complaints.

The ideal candidate has a mechanical/electrical background and a track record in quality processes; experience with first article inspection, 8D reports, and CE/CEX requirements is valued.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electronic & Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Additional degree in quality engineering is advantageous.
• Experience with quality processes for high-tech components in a global market.

Responsibilities

• Represent Quality in innovation, customization and relocation projects; initiate quality measures.
• Plan and manage Product Quality Planning.
• Approve first lot and product approvals for components.
• Initiate and approve Initial Sample Inspection.
• Coordinate First Article Inspection.
• Coordinate and process customer claims (8D and NCR).
• Approve and manage deviations.
• Ensure CE/CEX compliance.
• Support change requests and approvals from quality perspective.
• Support Design and Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA).

In this position, you will work closely with cross-functional team to support job role needs such as managing product quality plan and customer complains. The ideal candidate should demonstrate the following behavioural skills :

• Analytical and problem-solving skills

Your responsibilities include, but not limited to:

• Represent the Quality in innovation , customize and relocation projects, initiating the required quality measures
• Product Quality Planning and management
• Product and component parts approval ( First Lot Approval and Product Approval )
• Initialize and approve Initial Sample Inspection
• Coordination and processing of First Article Inspection
• Coordination and processing of customer claims (8D reports and Non conformance report )
• Deviation approval and management
• Ensuring the CE!/CEX requirements
• Supporting change requests and approval processes (quality perspective)
• Supporting in Design and Process Failure Mode Effect Analysis .
• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering , Electronic & Electrical Engineering or any other science/engineering related field
• Additional degree in quality engineering or successful track record in a quality engineer position is advantageous.
• Profound experience of the quality process (mechanisms) of high tech components in a highly consolidated market environment on a global scale.
