Job description

AirdroiTech · Shah Alam, on-site · Full-time

We build the software our clients run their businesses on, with AI at its core. We're looking for someone who can take a fast-moving stream of ideas, decide what matters most, and ship it.

About us

AirdroiTech designs, builds and runs in-house software for the businesses we support. Today that's a manufacturing group in air conditioning and filtration, operating across Malaysia and Australia:

Air distribution: one of Australia’s largest manufacturers and distributors of air conditioning products, such as ducting, fittings, diffusers and grilles, with around 25 manufacturing and distribution centres nationwide.

Smart climate control: app-connected controllers for zoned, ducted air conditioning, with features such as weather adaption, geofencing and energy-wastage alerts.

Filtration and components: a Malaysian manufacturer of filter cartridges and HVAC components. It uses injection moulding and metal fabrication, and exports to the Americas, Europe, Asia and Australasia.

The group: the technology business that ties these together across a Malaysia’s Australia supply chain.

We're building the group’s operations platform, which links the factory floor, the supply chain and management. We develop with AI coding tools every day, and we expect to support more businesses over time.

The role

This is a product owner role first. Most of your time goes into thinking: understanding the business, deciding what to build, and defining it precisely. AI coding agents write most of the code. Your full-stack experience is what makes that work. You direct the agents, review what they produce, and make sure it is correct, secure and built to last before it reaches users.

You start by taking ownership of our client’s live platform and driving it forward, working directly with leadership on both sides. As we grow, you'll bring the same approach to other businesses we support.

What you’ll do

Product ownership

Own the product roadmap and backlog for the platform and the wider suite of in-house tools, and rank work by its impact on the business.

Turn ideas from leadership into clear, buildable plans: problem statements, scope, and what "done" looks like.

Write each feature as an issue with acceptance criteria before any code is written, so people and AI agents build to the same spec.

Spend real time with users in manufacturing, logistics and management. Map how work actually happens and replace manual processes, spreadsheets and paper with reliable tools.

Measure adoption and results after release, and decide what to improve, extend or retire.

Brief, test and accept work from external development partners, and own the handover so the team can run and change what they deliver.

Help scope and shape new projects as we take on more businesses.

Technical ownership (with AI doing most of the coding)

Take ownership of an existing, live codebase built with AI coding tools, and take it from early versions to dependable, production-grade software.

Direct AI coding agents across the full stack (frontend, APIs, database and background services), and review their output for correctness, security, performance and maintainability. Write code yourself where judgement matters most.

Guide the build of modules such as production and equipment-effectiveness tracking, export shipment tracking, messaging-based data capture from the floor, and task and project management.

Own the data layer: schema design, migrations and query performance in PostgreSQL, plus integration with ERP and other source systems.

Build AI features responsibly, including language models, speech, document and image extraction, summarisation and agentic workflows, with checks before any output drives an action.

Delivery and operations

Ship in small changes with code review, automated tests and quick rollback.

Deploy, monitor and support applications in the cloud and on Linux servers, and manage environments, secrets and CI/CD.

Keep documentation, runbooks and architecture notes current.

Enforce data privacy and access rules across businesses and stakeholders, in line with the PDPA.

What you bring

Must have

4+ years building and shipping full-stack web applications. This is essential: you need to judge whether AI-written code is done right, spot what it gets wrong, and step in to fix it.

Experience owning product decisions, as a product owner, technical PM, founder or lead developer.

Strong TypeScript, with React or Next.js and Node.js in production.

Experience taking over an existing codebase and improving it.

The ability to write clear specs and run a backlog.

The ability to explain technical trade-offs to non-technical people, and to say no with reasons.

Nice to have

Experience working daily with AI coding agents such as Claude Code, including reviewing and correcting their output.

LLM or AI features shipped in production.

Experience managing external vendors or build partners.

A background in manufacturing, ERP or supply chain software.

English, Bahasa Malaysia or other languages. Our client’s workforce is multilingual.

Working knowledge of data privacy law (PDPA).

Who thrives here

You enjoy working with leadership that moves fast and thinks big, and you’re the one who sorts ideas into now, later and never.

You bring structure without bureaucracy.

You would rather see a problem on the production floor than guess from a desk.

You hold your ground in a debate, and you change your mind when the data says so.

You’re comfortable owning outcomes on your own.
