Job summary

My Recruit Direct in Malaysia is seeking a Mechanical/Manufacturing engineer to drive product development from concept to mass production. You will review drawings, coordinate with production, QA, tooling and other departments to resolve issues and ensure quality.

Fresh graduates are encouraged. A Diploma/Degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Mechatronics, Electrical/Electronic Engineering or related field is preferred. CAD exposure (AutoCAD/SolidWorks) is advantageous.

Qualifications

• Proven ability to understand and apply problem-solving tools (8D, 5 Why, Fishbone, FMEA, SPC).
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with good communication.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for product development and engineering activities from new product introduction to mass production.
• Review customer drawings, specifications and technical requirements.
• Coordinate with customers, production, QA, tooling and other departments on product-related issues.
• Prepare and maintain engineering documents such as drawings, BOM, specifications and work instructions.
• Support prototype, trial production and product validation activities.
• Conduct product and process analysis to identify and resolve technical issues.
• Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective/preventive actions.
• Support engineering changes and product improvement activities.
• Monitor product quality and ensure products meet customer and company requirements.
• Support new product transfer from development to production.
• Participate in cost reduction, productivity and continuous improvement projects.
• Provide technical support to production and troubleshoot product-related problems.

Job Requirements

• Diploma/Degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Mechatronics, Electrical/Electronic Engineering or related field.
• Experience in product engineering, manufacturing or precision engineering will be an advantage.
• Fresh graduates with relevant engineering background may also be considered.
• Able to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
• Knowledge of problem-solving tools such as 8D, 5 Why, Fishbone, FMEA and SPC is an advantage.
• Good analytical, troubleshooting and communication skills.
• Able to work independently and coordinate with different departments.
• Knowledge of AutoCAD/SolidWorks or other CAD software would be an advantage.
