Job summary

Jora Malaysia is seeking a product development professional to identify and evaluate new product opportunities based on market trends, customer requirements and business needs. You will assist in, lead and coordinate development activities and work closely with commercial teams and customers to translate technical requirements into viable chemical products.

You will conduct market and competitor analyses, collaborate with Sales, Technical, Quality and Production to ensure successful development

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in chemical engineering, chemistry, polymer science or related field.
• 3–4 years in chemical sales, technical sales, application development, product development or technical support preferred.
• Willing to travel for customer visits, product trials and business development activities when required.
• Good command of English, both written and spoken.

Responsibilities

• Identify and evaluate new product opportunities based on market trends, customer requirements and business needs.
• Assist in, lead and coordinate the product development activities
• Work closely with commercial / sales teams and customers to understand technical requirements and source and then develop suitable chemical products
• Conduct market and competitor analysis to identify potential business opportunities and areas for product improvement
• Collaborate with Sales, Technical, Quality, Production and other departments to ensure successful product development and market introduction
• Liaise with suppliers and principals on product specifications, technical information, samples and product development matters
• Conduct product trials, evaluations and technical assessments where required
• Monitor product performance and customer feedback and recommend improvements where necessary
• Support the Sales team in technical presentations, customer visits and product demonstrations
• Take ownership of assigned product development projects and ensure that targets, timelines and deliverables are achieved
• Any other related duties to product development as assigned by the Company from time to time

Requirements

Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Polymer Science or a related technical field

3 to 4 years working experience in chemical sales, technical sales, application development, product development or technical support preferred. Have good understanding of chemical trading industry.

Willing to travel for customer visits, product trials and business development activities when required

Good understanding of chemical products, applications and/or industrial processes an advantage

Good command of English, both written and spoken
