Job summary

TG Malaysia is seeking an experienced Product Development Assistant Manager to oversee concepts through prototype testing, certification, and commercial production. You will lead engineering projects, improve product quality and ensure regulatory compliance, coordinating with manufacturing, procurement and sales teams.

The role requires a strong background in mechanical/industrial engineering, 5–10 years in product development, and hands-on CAD and PLC programming experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Chemical, Manufacturing, Industrial or related Engineering.
• 5–10 years of relevant experience in product development or engineering manufacturing.
• Experience in Oil & Gas, industrial gas, cryogenic systems, pressure vessels or process equipment is preferred.
• Knowledge of CE, PED and ASME certification.
• Proficient in Autodesk Inventor, SolidWorks or equivalent CAD software.
• Experience with PDM/PLM systems and ERP.
• Knowledge of Siemens or Allen-Bradley PLC programming.
• Strong leadership, project management and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead product development and engineering design activities.
• Manage prototype development, testing and product validation.
• Coordinate product certifications, including CE, PED and ASME.
• Oversee CAD designs, technical drawings and engineering documentation.
• Support PLC programming and industrial automation activities.
• Manage product customization based on customer requirements.
• Coordinate with manufacturing teams to ensure production readiness.
• Manage product lifecycle, quality improvements and technical issues.
• Support ERP, BOM, procurement and inventory management.
• Lead and develop the engineering team.
