Job summary

Ambition is seeking a Product Design Engineer in Johor to own end-to-end connector design projects, from concept to production, within a globally recognised engineering environment.

You'll translate requirements into detailed drawings, perform DFMEA and tolerance analyses, and ensure manufacturability with process teams. The role emphasises cost efficiency, standard compliance, and hands-on product development within a permanent position.

Qualifications

• A degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related discipline.
• At least 3 years of hands-on product design and development experience.
• Strong 3D CAD modelling skills, with SolidWorks and CREO proficiency.
• Familiarity with CAE tools such as ANSYS.
• Knowledge of plastic technology, insert-moulding, stamping, or connector applications.
• Solid grounding in Solid Mechanics and engineering drawing standards.

Responsibilities

• Translating customer requirements into detailed product drawings and specifications.
• Performing design analysis activities, including DFMEA and tolerance studies.
• Collaborating with process engineering teams to ensure designs are fully manufacturable.
• Driving cost efficiencies through continuous product design improvement.
• Ensuring compliance with international industry standards throughout the product lifecycle.
