Job summary

PHN Industry Sdn Bhd, a DRB-HICOM subsidiary, seeks a proactive procurement professional to evaluate suppliers for automotive and manufacturing projects, issue RFQs, assess bids, negotiate terms, and appoint vendors. You will coordinate cross-functional teams, monitor supplier performance, and drive cost reductions through strategic sourcing while ensuring compliance with quality standards and ERP systems.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in procurement, supply chain, business administration, engineering or related discipline.
Fresh graduates encouraged to apply; 1–2 years experience in procurement, sourcing, manufacturing or automotive industry advantageous.
Strong negotiation, analytical and problem-solving skills.
Good communication in English and Bahasa Malaysia.
Knowledge of supplier sourcing, vendor management and cost analysis.
Basic understanding of automotive manufacturing processes and 2D/3D drawings is a plus.
Familiarity with ERP systems or procurement software preferred.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and PowerPoint.
Knowledge of IATF 16949, ISO 9001, ISO 14001 or ISO 45001 an added advantage.

Responsibilities

Source, evaluate, and appoint new suppliers for automotive and manufacturing projects.
Manage procurement from RFQ to vendor appointment.
Conduct supplier assessments, audits, and site visits with cross-functional teams.
Analyze quotations, benchmark costs, and negotiate competitive pricing.
Drive cost reduction through strategic sourcing and supplier negotiations.
Monitor supplier performance on quality, delivery, capacity, and readiness.
Coordinate outsourcing, resourcing, and insourcing to meet production needs.
Ensure compliance with policies, quality standards, and automotive requirements.
Prepare procurement reports, presentations, and management updates.
Support procurement digitalization, system improvements, and sustainability initiatives.

Job description

Source, evaluate, and appoint new suppliers for automotive and manufacturing projects.

Manage the procurement process from RFQ issuance, supplier evaluation, commercial negotiation,to vendor appointment.

Conduct supplier assessments, audits, and site visits together with cross-functional teams.

Analyze supplier quotations, perform cost benchmarking, and negotiate competitive pricing.

Drive cost reduction initiatives through strategic sourcing and supplier negotiations.

Monitor supplier performance in terms of quality, delivery, capacity, and project readiness.

Coordinate outsourcing, resourcing, and insourcing activities to support production requirements.

Ensure procurement activities comply with company policies, quality standards, and automotive industry requirements.

Prepare procurement reports, presentations, and management updates.

Support procurement digitalization, system improvements, sustainability initiatives, and continuous process enhancements.

Key Requirements

Bachelor's Degree in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related discipline.

Fresh graduates are encouraged to apply. Candidates with 1–2 years of experience in procurement, sourcing, manufacturing, or the automotive industry will have an added advantage.
