Job summary

A growing technology firm in Penang seeks a Procurement Manager to oversee all procurement activities, develop strategies to reduce costs and maintain quality. Candidates should hold a Bachelor’s in Supply Chain Management with at least 5 years of experience in procurement, preferably in the precision engineering sector. Strong negotiation, communication, and analytical skills are essential. Proficiency in written and spoken Mandarin is an advantage.

Job Description

Responsible for the entire procurement activities and ensuring the efficiency of its operations, from supplier selection to delivery.

To develop, implement and coordinate the procurement strategy to reduce procurement costs while maintaining quality standards, and other cost-saving initiatives. (Analysis skills)

To manage, build and maintain strong supplier and vendor relationships, to ensure timely delivery, quality, and competitive pricing.

To identify and mitigate potential risks associated with procurement, such as supply chain disruptions, quality issues, and price fluctuations.

To monitor and evaluate supplier performance against agreed-upon indicators, including delivery time, quality, and cost.

To lead the purchasing team to fulfil internal customers' demand on quality and delivery.

Job Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.

Minimum 5 years of experience in procurement role, experienced in precision engineering industry would be an added advantage.

Strong negotiation and communication skills.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Good command of written and spoken Mandarin would be an added advantage.
