Job summary

Hong Leong Bank seeks a Procurement Assistant Manager to develop and execute sourcing strategies, manage contracts and tendering activities, and drive cost efficiency. The role reports to the Procurement Manager and requires a strong understanding of procurement principles.

The ideal candidate will negotiate with high-quality vendors, monitor performance, and coordinate across internal departments to ensure compliance and timely delivery of projects.

Qualifications

• Malaysian citizenship is required.
• Bachelor’s/Diploma or higher in Finance, Accounting, Banking, Economics, Business or related supply-chain field.
• At least 5 years of experience in procurement or a similar role.
• Knowledge of sustainability, green procurement and E-procurement systems such as Oracle is preferred.
• Proficiency in English and Malay (written/spoken) and competence with MS Office and procurement software.
• Excellent negotiation and contract management skills; strong analytical and multi-project management abilities.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute sourcing strategies aligned with bank objectives.
• Draft and negotiate complex corporate service contracts with vendors.
• Analyze spending to identify cost-saving opportunities and track procurement metrics.
• Cultivate strong vendor partnerships and support stakeholders in performance issues.
• Oversee end-to-end procurement projects from vendor selection to implementation.
• Assess and mitigate supply chain risks and ensure business continuity.
