Job summary

Nufarm Malaysia Sdn Bhd is seeking a proactive Procurement Executive to manage strategic and operational procurement for indirect spend across the Asia business unit. You will oversee procurement for packaging, marketing, logistics, and manufacturing, combining category strategy with hands-on sourcing to optimize cost, quality, and risk.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of experience in procurement roles.
• Broad knowledge of supply chain functions and category strategic management.
• Experience in sourcing packaging, contract negotiation, and contract management.
• Strong knowledge of engineering and maintenance spend (MRO, spare parts, services).
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and commercial acumen.

Responsibilities

• Develop regional category strategies for indirect spending.
• Conduct market analysis, supplier segmentation, and risk assessments.
• Lead end-to-end sourcing activities, including RFx documentation, supplier evaluation, negotiation, and contract awarding.
• Manage key supplier performance through KPIs, scorecards, and regular business reviews.
• Oversee day-to-day purchasing activities, including catalogue maintenance and purchase requisition conversion.
• Support CAPEX and OPEX projects with integrated procurement planning and execution.
• Identify and mitigate supply chain risks, including single-source dependencies and critical spares.
• Partner with internal stakeholders across Finance, Manufacturing, and Engineering to drive innovative solutions.

In this role, you'll be responsible for the strategic and operational procurement of all non-chemical spend across the Nufarm Asia business unit. This includes goods and services related to commercial and marketing, packaging, logistics, and manufacturing operations. You will combine strategic category management with hands-on sourcing and purchasing execution to achieve quality, cost optimisation, and risk mitigation.

How You’ll Help Us Grow

• Strategic Category Management: Develop and implement regional category strategies for indirect spending aligned with global goals and operational requirements.
• Market Analysis: Conduct market analysis, supplier segmentation, and risk assessments to inform sourcing strategies.

We're looking for someone with:

Mandatory:

• Experience: 3-5 years of experience in procurement roles.
• Technical Knowledge: Broad knowledge of supply chain functions and category strategic management.
• Sourcing Expertise: Demonstrated experience in sourcing packaging, contract negotiation, and contract management.
• Specialized Spend: Strong knowledge of engineering and maintenance spend (e.g., MRO, spare parts, services).
• Skills: Strong analytical, problem-solving, and commercial acumen.

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Quantity Surveying, or equivalent.

Systems:

• Experience with SAP Ariba.

Industry:

• Chemical manufacturing background.

Scope:

• Experience working across multiple countries.
