Job summary

Stratus Automation Sdn Bhd is seeking a proactive Procurement/Strategic Sourcing professional to drive cost-effective sourcing of mechanical, electrical and electronic components. You will collaborate with Engineering during NPI and DFM stages to identify alternative materials and manufacturing processes that meet specifications and lead times.

The role involves evaluating suppliers, conducting RFIs/RFQs/RFPs, and implementing VA/VE opportunities while ensuring quality and supply continuity.

Qualifications

Minimum 5 years of purchasing/engineering or procurement experience with capital equipment.
Strong negotiation and analytical skills are required.
Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
Knowledge of electrical and electronic components is an added advantage.
Ability to drive and lead projects.

Responsibilities

Engage with Engineering during early NPI stage, preferably before BOM/drawing release.
Review drawings, specifications, materials and proposed manufacturing processes for cost and manufacturability.
Identify cost-reduction opportunities and VA/VE across products.
Perform supplier evaluations, RFIs/RFQs/RFPs and technical/commercial assessments.
Develop alternate sourcing and localization opportunities to reduce lead time and cost.
Coordinate with QA and Engineering for testing and qualification.
Negotiate terms, lead times and commercial aspects with suppliers.
