The Procurement Engineer – Contract Manufacturing plays a pivotal role in ensuring the reliable, cost‐effective supply of mechanical build‐to‐print components, OEM parts, and commercial items through external manufacturing partners. This role combines strong technical expertise—interpreting mechanical drawings and specifications—with commercial acumen to drive sourcing and purchasing decisions in a fast‐paced CM environment.Partnering closely with contract manufacturers, engineering, quality, and operations teams, the Procurement Engineer develops and manages localized and regional supply bases to improve cost, reduce lead times, and mitigate supply risk. The role is also actively involved in supplier qualification, value‐engineering initiatives, and continuous improvement efforts to enhance total cost of ownership, quality, and delivery performance across the contract manufacturing network.**Work Location: ONSITE – Pasir Gudang, Johor Bahru.** **Key Responsibilities:**Monitor supplier performance (OTD, quality, cost) and work with cross-functional teams on corrective actions when required.Any other duties as assigned. **Qualifications & Competencies:****Minimum 3–5 years of procurement experience in precision machining, mechanical assembly, build-to-print manufacturing, or similar environment.** Proven negotiation skills with the ability to drive cost reductions and secure competitive supplier terms.Experience in supplier localization and onboarding of new vendors. Strong problem-solving and analytical skills. Good communication and stakeholder management skills.**Desirable Skills:**Knowledge of machining cost modelling, tooling, and material cost drivers. Experience with ERP/MRP systems (SAP, Oracle, Netsuite, etc.).Familiarity with ISO/AS quality standards and supplier audit processes. Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
