Job summary

AIA is seeking a Process Excellence - Automation, Consultant to drive RPA and intelligent automation initiatives in Malaysia. You will partner with business and technology teams to design, implement and support automation solutions that improve efficiency and governance.

The role requires 5–8 years in RPA or related fields, hands-on UiPath experience, and a solid track record delivering end-to-end automation projects in financial services or regulated industries.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.
• UiPath certification and related automation certifications are a plus.
• 5–8 years of experience in RPA, process excellence, or intelligent automation.
• Hands-on experience with UiPath Studio, Orchestrator and Automation Cloud.

Responsibilities

• Lead process discovery and feasibility studies to identify automation opportunities.

About the Role

The role partners closely with business stakeholders, technology teams and vendors to identify, design, implement and support automation solutions that improve operational efficiency, service quality, governance and business outcomes. The incumbent is also responsible for maintaining the stability and performance of the existing automation portfolio, ensuring compliance with enterprise standards and driving continuous process improvement across business functions.

Roles and Responsibilities:

1. Process Excellence & Continuous Improvement

• Conduct process discovery, walkthroughs and analysis sessions with business stakeholders to identify automation and process improvement opportunities.

• Perform process assessments, root cause analysis and feasibility studies to determine automation suitability and expected business benefits.

• Drive continuous improvement initiatives for existing automation processes to improve efficiency, quality, compliance and user experience.

• Analyze production exceptions and failure trends, and implement enhancements to improve automation performance and stability.

• Support business transformation initiatives by recommending process redesign and optimization opportunities.
  

2. Automation Delivery & Implementation

• Lead and support end-to-end RPA project delivery, including requirements gathering, solution design, development coordination, testing, deployment and post-production support.

• Collaborate with business users, developers, architects and vendors to deliver scalable and sustainable automation solutions.

• Facilitate User Acceptance Testing (UAT), defect resolution and production readiness activities.

• Ensure automation solutions comply with approved architecture, technology standards and security requirements.

• Support modernization initiatives and migration projects involving existing automation solutions and business platforms.
  

3. Automation Operations & Production Support

• Perform day-to-day monitoring, maintenance and support of production RPA bots and automation solutions.

• Investigate, troubleshoot and resolve automation incidents, business exceptions and technical issues within established service levels.

• Coordinate with infrastructure, application and platform support teams to ensure automation availability and business continuity.

• Perform impact assessments and remediation activities arising from infrastructure changes, application upgrades, server migrations and platform patches.

• Monitor automation performance, utilization and operational metrics to ensure optimum service delivery.
  

4. Governance, Risk & Compliance

• Ensure automation solutions adhere to enterprise governance standards, regulatory requirements, security policies and operational controls.

• Conduct impact analyses for system, infrastructure and business process changes affecting existing automation solutions.

• Support release management activities, including deployment planning, bot scheduling, access management, version control and environment readiness.

• Maintain complete and accurate technical documentation, operational procedures and audit evidence.

• Participate in internal audits, risk assessments and compliance reviews relating to automation services.
  

5. Innovation & Automation Strategy

• Keep abreast of emerging technologies, industry trends and UiPath product enhancements to drive innovation and continuous improvement.

• Evaluate opportunities to expand intelligent automation capabilities through workflow automation, AI-powered solutions and process orchestration.

• Contribute to the development and adoption of automation standards, frameworks and best practices across the organization.
  

6. Stakeholder Management & Collaboration

• Build strong partnerships with business stakeholders to understand operational challenges and automation opportunities.

• Provide advisory support on process improvement and automation initiatives.

• Communicate project progress, risks, issues and benefits realization to relevant stakeholders.

• Support user training, knowledge transfer and change adoption activities.

Minimum Job Requirements:

Education:

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Business Information Systems or related disciplines.

• UiPath certification and other automation-related certifications would be an added advantage.
  

Experience:

• Minimum 5-8 years of experience in Robotic Process Automation (RPA), Process Excellence, Business Process Improvement or Intelligent Automation.

• Hands-on experience with UiPath Studio, Orchestrator and Automation Cloud platforms.

• Experience managing production automation support and incident resolution.

• Experience delivering automation projects through the full project lifecycle.

• Experience in financial services, insurance or regulated industries would be an advantage.

• Exposure to Azure Virtual Machines, infrastructure support and release management activities is preferred.

• Knowledge of workflow automation, AI-enabled automation, OCR or process mining technologies would be an added advantage.
