Jora Malaysia seeks engineers with a Bachelor’s in Engineering and 5+ years in chemical, petrochemical or manufacturing settings. Candidates may be considered for Senior or Junior roles based on experience.

Bachelor's Degree in Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation or related Engineering disciplines.
Minimum 5 years of relevant engineering experience, preferably in chemical, petrochemical, process or manufacturing plants.
Candidates with more extensive experience may be considered for Senior Engineer positions.
Fresh graduates with strong technical potential may be considered for Junior Engineer positions.
Strong knowledge and practical understanding of process plant engineering, equipment, piping and plant utilities.
Good understanding of process safety, HSE requirements and engineering risk management.
Strong analytical, troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Ability to interpret and review P&IDs, equipment datasheets, layout drawings, specifications and engineering documents.
Familiar with engineering codes, international standards and applicable Malaysian statutory and regulatory requirements.
Experience working with consultants, contractors, suppliers and equipment vendors.
Good project coordination and communication skills.
Able to work independently, manage multiple priorities and meet project deadlines.
Willing to travel between project sites, suppliers and contractor locations when required.
JOB DESCRIPTION
Develop engineering document such as P&ID and Layout Plan.
Conduct engineering calculations and equipment sizing for chemical, mechanical and E&I systems, as applicable.
Support process design, material balance, equipment selection and process optimisation.
Identify opportunities to improve plant capacity, reliability, energy efficiency and operational performance.
Review material compatibility and equipment design for chemical service.
Review engineering documents submitted by consultants, contractors or vendors.
Coordinate with Operations, Maintenance, HSE, consultants, contractors and vendors throughout project execution.
Participate in Hazard Studies such as HAZOPs and JSA.
Prepare RFQ documents including equipment datasheets and purchase orders.
Prepare contractor/vendor quotation evaluation and recommendation.
Scheduling and tracking of contractors/vendors’ progress, quality control and reporting.
Attend equipment inspections and factory acceptance tests.
Prepare and compile standard operating procedures and equipment operation manuals.
Site installation supervision and inspection works.
Develop and coordinate commissioning and start-up activities.
To provide technical & operation support to Operation team.
Participate in Management of Change (MOC) processes for plant modifications.
Provide technical support to the Operations and Maintenance teams.
Troubleshoot process, equipment and plant performance issues.
