Job summary

Carlsberg Malaysia in Shah Alam invites a motivated Process Engineer to join the Packaging Operations Team. You will drive packaging line performance, optimize manufacturing processes, and lead continuous improvement initiatives to support operational excellence.

You will work with cross-functional teams to reduce losses, improve efficiency, strengthen quality and food safety, and embed Carlsberg Excellence practices across the brewery.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Food Technology, or related discipline.
  • Minimum 5–7 years of experience in a manufacturing or production environment.
  • Experience in Lean Six Sigma and continuous improvement implementation.
  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification is an added advantage.
  • Experience in statistical analysis and process control methodologies.
  • Proficiency in Power BI and Minitab.
  • Strong experience in process optimization, loss reduction, and productivity improvement.
  • Knowledge of TPM methodologies and operational excellence tools.
  • Experience in NPI/NPD projects and line commissioning/start-up activities would be an advantage.
  • Good understanding of food safety, quality systems, HACCP and GMP practices.
  • Strong command of English, both spoken and written.

Responsibilities

  • Drive packaging line performance through process optimization, loss reduction, and productivity improvement initiatives.
  • Lead continuous improvement projects using Lean Six Sigma, root cause analysis, and problem-solving methodologies to eliminate process inefficiencies.
  • Analyze operational data and KPIs, identify gaps, and develop action plans to improve equipment efficiency, product quality, and cost performance.
  • Conduct Gemba Walks, chrono analysis, and line balance optimization activities to drive sustainable operational improvements.
  • Partner with Line Leaders, Technical Teams, Maintenance, Quality, and Supply Chain to implement improvement initiatives and resolve process-related issues.
  • Monitor and optimize process parameters, ensuring equipment and production processes operate within defined standards and specifications.
  • Identify and eliminate causes of material losses, scrap generation, quality deviations, and equipment performance issues.
  • Support development and implementation of SOPs, process standards, and process confirmation activities to ensure compliance with Carlsberg Operating Manual (COM) requirements.
  • Champion food safety, quality, and workplace safety standards while promoting a culture of continuous improvement throughout the organization.
  • Provide coaching, training, and technical guidance to strengthen capability and embed Carlsberg Excellence practices across the line teams.

Process Engineer

We are looking for a passionate and results-driven Process Engineer to join our Packaging Operations Team based in Shah Alam, Selangor.

In this role, you will drive packaging line performance, optimize manufacturing processes, and champion continuous improvement initiatives to support operational excellence. Working closely with cross-functional teams, you will identify opportunities to reduce losses, improve efficiency, strengthen quality and food safety standards, and embed Carlsberg Excellence ways of working across the brewery.
