Maica Laminates Sdn Bhd in Lunas Kedah is seeking a Process Engineer for a full-time role leading production and process-improvement projects, including involvement in new development initiatives.

We are seeking a dedicated Process Engineer to join Maica Laminates Sdn Bhd in Lunas Kedah. This is a full-time position that plays a crucial role in acting as project leader in projects or activities which link to production & process improvement. For some projects / activities linked to new development.
Weekly updates report on the delivery reliability progress system, update the status of on-hand production activities, leads root cause investigations with preventive and corrective actions for non-conforming raw, semi-finished, and finished materials highlighted by production, and initiates new working instructions for both existing and new production process flows.
Involved in projects as either leader or member, reporting to the principal or project leader, and utilizes project management tools including Gantt charts, resource management, costing calculations, reporting, PRA (Project Result Analysis), and NPI (New Production Introduction).
Coordinates customer complaint handling between marketing, communication, and production, leads root cause investigations and implements corrective and preventive actions for technical issues, collaborates with production when issues are production-related, visits customers on-site when required to evaluate complaint products, and ensures all deadlines are met.
Conducts time studies to determine optimal setup and cycle times, proposes these time standards for system implementation, reviews them with the Analyst personnel for final approval, and assesses the required production headcount to present recommendations to superiors.
Coordinates with relevant departments on WI request completion dates, reviews WI drafts, and participates directly in WI and SOP writing and preparation.
Handler on the BOM and Routing in system and maintains accurate activity logs, ensures a clean and safe workspace with correct waste disposal, processes all reports through the designated system, and coordinates sample review sessions with marketing, production, technology, and other relevant departments.
Supports the full laminates manufacturing process including hands-on presence during trials, drafts and fills in testing memos for projects, applies statistical analysis to test results, evaluates data to draw conclusions and prepare reports, and proposes recommendations and improvements based on findings.
Adheres to all company safety, health, and environmental regulations, and actively identifies and proposes improvements or initiates changes to enhance performance in these areas.
Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering, and Chemistry. Wood Science or equivalent.
Minimum of 1-2 years' professional experience in process engineering within the chemical, manufacturing, or laminate production industries
Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to analyse complex technical challenges
Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams
Demonstrated commitment to health, safety, and environmental compliance
Experience with process optimisation and lean manufacturing principles
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and data analysis tools
Preferred: Experience in the laminate or composites manufacturing sector
Preferred: Knowledge of project management methodologies
Candidates must have normal colour vision (non-colour blind) due to the nature of work which involves visual inspection, colour matching, and quality assessment of laminates and materials.
