Job summary

Cleanroom Industries Sdn Bhd is seeking a Process Costing Engineer in Penang to prepare costing for new and existing products, analyzing processes and determining standard and estimated costs. You will collaborate across departments to validate costing data and support cost-saving initiatives in a manufacturing environment.

The role requires a degree in Mechanical/Manufacturing/Industrial Engineering and 1–2 years of related experience, with strong analytic and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical/Manufacturing/Industrial Engineering or related field.
• 1–2 years in process costing or a manufacturing environment.
• Understanding of BOM, routing, cycle time, material and labour costs.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office; SQL knowledge is an advantage.
• Strong costing, problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare process costing for new and existing products based on manufacturing processes, materials, labour, machine usage and overhead costs.
• Analyze production processes and determine the standard cost and estimated manufacturing cost of products.
• Review BOM, routing, cycle time, material usage, labour requirements and machine capacity to ensure accurate costing.
• Work closely with various departments to collect and validate costing information.
• Conduct cost analysis and variance analysis between estimated, standard and actual production costs.
• Identify opportunities to reduce manufacturing costs, improve process efficiency and minimize material wastage.
• Support quotation and NPI activities by providing accurate manufacturing cost estimates.
• Evaluate the cost impact of process changes, engineering changes, new materials and new equipment.
• Monitor and update costing data when there are changes in material prices, labour rates, machine rates or production processes.
• Prepare costing reports and provide recommendations to management for cost optimization and process improvement.
• Perform other duties assigned by the superior.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Degree inMechanical Engineering,Manufacturing Engineering, IndustrialEngineering or related field.

1-2 yearsof experiencein process costing, manufacturing engineering, industrial engineering or a related manufacturing environment.

Good understanding of manufacturing processes and production operations.

Familiar with BOM, routing, cycletime, material consumption, labour cost and machine cost calculations.

Proficient in Microsoft Office with experience with SQL systems is an advantage.

Good problem-solvingand cost-analysisskills.

Good communication and interpersonal skills.
