Job summary

MEP Enviro Technology Sdn Bhd is seeking a laboratory professional to support sample collection, preparation, and monitoring of wastewater treatment plant performance. You will maintain records in the LIMS, handle chemicals safely, and collaborate with chemists and operations teams to ensure quality and compliance.

The ideal candidate holds a Chemistry-related degree or diploma, with 1–3 years of lab experience, strong attention to detail, and proficiency in Excel.

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in chemistry, chemical engineering, environmental science or related field.
• 1–3 years laboratory experience; fresh graduates welcome.
• Familiar with basic lab techniques; accurate and detail-oriented.
• Proficient in Excel and basic computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Collect and verify incoming samples and register records in the LIMS.
• Perform sample preparation including wet digestion, filtration and related techniques.
• Ensure proper storage, handling and disposal of samples and reagents.
• Maintain housekeeping and collaborate with chemists, operations and enviro teams.
• Monitor wastewater treatment plant performance and report results.
• Assist in ensuring regulatory compliance and support troubleshooting.

Key Responsibilities

(A) Collection and preparation of samples:

• Collect and verify incoming samples.
• Register and maintain sample records in the laboratory management system.
• Perform sample preparation procedures, including wet digestion, filtration, and related laboratory techniques.
• Ensure proper storage, handling, and disposal of samples and chemical reagents.
• Maintain laboratory housekeeping.
• Collaborate effectively with chemists, operations, and environmental teams.
• Conduct routine monitoring and sampling of wastewater treatment plant performance.
• Record and report operational parameters, test results, and abnormalities.
• Assist in maintaining compliance with environmental and regulatory requirements.
• Support troubleshooting and optimization activities for wastewater treatment processes.

Job Requirement

• Diploma or Degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Environmental Science, or related scientific field preferred.
• 1-3 years of experience in a laboratory setting, preferably in an industrial, chemical, or wastewater treatment environment (fresh graduates are encouraged to apply).
• Familiarity with basic laboratory techniques.
• Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills.
• Ability to perform tasks independently with minimal supervision.
• Proficiency in basic computer applications (e.g., Microsoft Excel).
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Willing and able to work 6 days a week (Monday to Saturday), with one scheduled rest day per week
