Job summary

Melexis Malaysia is seeking a Process and Equipment Engineering Assistant to ensure the optimal performance, reliability and maintenance of manufacturing equipment. You will provide technical and logistical support, actively participating in equipment releases and testing activities to optimize production workflows.

Operating with autonomy, you will tackle daily essential tasks, plan and report tests, manage supplier complaints, purchase orders and keep documentation up to date, while traveling

Qualifications

• Diploma or Certificate in Engineering; advanced working experience required.
• Minimum 3 years of related experience, preferably in semiconductor equipment.
• Knowledge of machine equipment, mechanical and electronic parts, and repair/maintenance in manufacturing.
• Team player with a result-driven mindset and strong reporting skills.
• Strong problem-solving and basic inventory management knowledge.
• Good computer literacy and proficiency with engineering tracking tools.

Responsibilities

• Handle engineering activities for product development.
• Plan, execute and report tests within the local manufacturing area.
• Support equipment release activities and production support for non-released products/equipment.
• Manage administrative tasks for supplier complaints, tracking and follow-up.
• Execute purchase orders upon request from P&EE team members.

Job description

As a Process and Equipment Engineering Assistant at Melexis, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the optimal performance, reliability and maintenance of manufacturing equipment. You will provide essential technical and logistical support, actively participating in equipment releases and testing activities to optimize production workflows. Operating with a high degree of autonomy, your proactive contributions will tackle daily essential tasks.

More specifically, you will:

Handle engineering activities for product development. Plan, execute and report tests performed within the local manufacturing area.

Support equipment release activities and handle underlying production support for non-released products and equipment.

Manage administrative tasks for supplier complaints, overseeing the accurate initiation, tracking and follow-up for equipment and consumable issues.

Execute purchase orders efficiently upon request from P&EE team members to sustain engineering operations.

Serve as the initial point of contact for production escalations, reviewing daily process or equipment issues and assigning them to appropriate team members.

Maintain and update documentation such as Work Instructions, operational checklists and relevant log files.

Your profile

Diploma or Certificate in Engineering (Electro-Mechanics, Electronics, or relevant field)—certificate requires advanced working experience.

Minimum 3 years of related experience, preferably in the semiconductor equipment field.

Knowledge of machine equipment (mechanical and electronic parts), machine repair and curative maintenance in the manufacturing environment.

A team player with a result-driven mindset and strong reporting skills.

Strong problem-solving skills and basic knowledge of inventory management techniques.

Good computer literacy and high proficiency with engineering tracking tools.

Fluency in English, both spoken and written, with willingness to travel to other sites.
