Job summary

Melexis (MALAYSIA) SDN. BHD. is seeking an Equipment Specialist to ensure optimal performance, reliability, and maintenance of manufacturing equipment. You will lead curative and preventive maintenance, manage calibration, and support process optimization projects on the production floor.

The role requires a degree or diploma in engineering with at least 3 years of related experience in semiconductor equipment. Fluency in English and willingness to travel to other sites are essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of related experience in semiconductor equipment maintenance or similar manufacturing environments.
• Knowledge of machine equipment, mechanical and electronic parts, and curative maintenance.
• Fluency in English, both spoken and written; willingness to travel to other sites.

Responsibilities

• Carry out curative and preventive maintenance of complex machines in production.
• Manage calibration process: planning, execution, follow-up, and results documentation.
• Update work instructions and checklists for calibration and maintenance activities.
• Release and install duplicated equipment to the production floor.
• Support production in troubleshooting complex equipment issues.
• Provide technical support for Process and Performance optimization projects (Level 1/2).
• Translate technical knowledge into clear documentation for continuous improvement.
• Deliver training and coaching to Lean Production team members and related PEE roles.

Job description

As an Equipment Specialist at Melexis, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the optimal performance, reliability, and maintenance of manufacturing equipment.

Key responsibilities

Carry out curative and preventive maintenance of complex machines in the production environment

Manage the calibration process, including planning, execution, follow-up, and documentation of results

Update and apply work instructions/checklists for calibration and full maintenance activities

Release and install duplicated equipment to the production floor

Support production in troubleshooting complex equipment issues

Provide technical support as part of Process optimization and Performance optimization projects - Level 1 and Level 2 project (execution of validation plans, analysis, validation reports, implementation)

Translate technical knowledge into clear documentation for continuous improvement

Deliver training and coaching to Lean Production team members and certain P&EE team positions to cascade technical know-how

About you

Degree or Diploma in Engineering (Electro-Mechanics, Electronics or relevant field)—diploma requires advanced working experience

Minimum 3 years of related experience, preferably in the semiconductor equipment field

Knowledge of machine equipment (mechanical and electronic parts), machine repair, and curative maintenance in the manufacturing environment

A team player with a result-driven mindset

Strong reporting and problem-solving skills

Basic knowledge of inventory management techniques

Fluency in English, both spoken and written

Willingness to travel to other sites
