Job summary

Airswift is seeking a senior Principal Subsea Engineer in KL, Malaysia, for a one-year renewable contract to lead subsea engineering, pipeline advanced engineering, and finite element analysis within a complex project environment.

The role focuses on supporting technical delivery across design, analysis, fabrication, installation, and cross-disciplinary coordination, with emphasis on SURF, deepwater, and pipeline integrity.

Qualifications

• Experience in SURF and deepwater projects.

This opportunity offers a senior-level position focused on subsea engineering, pipeline advanced engineering, and finite element analysis within a complex project environment.

The role will support technical delivery across design, analysis, fabrication, installation, and multidisciplinary engineering coordination.

This position is suited to professionals with strong expertise in SURF and deepwater projects, advanced pipeline analysis, and subsea design integrity.

Required Experience:

• Previous experience in SURF and deepwater projects
• Strong background in subsea engineering with specialist expertise in pipeline advanced engineering
• Experience solving complex pipeline-related engineering problems with minimal guidance
• Experience leading functional teams or supporting project delivery within multidisciplinary engineering environments
• Experience preparing and reviewing design basis documents, technical specifications, design reports, and engineering procedures
• Experience supporting fabrication, installation, procurement, vendor review, and technical query resolution

Required Skills:

• In-depth expertise in pipeline finite element analysis and advanced analysis engineering
• Strong knowledge of pipeline design, installation analyses, and engineering evaluation for pipelines and associated components
• Capability in wall thickness design, on-bottom stability analysis, cathodic protection design, free-span analysis, and rigid riser stress analysis
• Knowledge of route selection, bottom roughness evaluation, crossing support design, clamp design, subsea structure design, shore approach design, and onshore pipeline design
• Technical ability in local and global buckling mitigation, seismic analysis, lateral buckling, and walking analysis
• Strong coordination, technical review, and document control skills across engineering disciplines, planning, fabrication, marine, and project management teams

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience contributing to standards development committees or task groups such as API
• Experience producing technical papers, participating in conferences or seminars, or presenting technical solutions
