Job summary

Advanced Energy Malaysia seeks a Principal Power Semiconductor Device Engineer to act as the technical authority for failure analysis, RCCA and reliability investigations. Lead complex studies on Si, SiC and GaN devices, applying device physics and stress testing to identify root causes and drive effective corrective actions.

You will collaborate with CQE, SQE, CFA, Product and Design Engineering, Reliability Engineering and Manufacturing to resolve critical issues and improve product quality

Qualifications

• Deep knowledge of power semiconductor device physics, technologies and failure mechanisms (Si, SiC, GaN).
• Extensive experience in semiconductor failure analysis and reliability methodologies.
• Strong understanding of fabrication, packaging and assembly processes.
• Knowledge of power semiconductor packaging technologies and power modules.
• Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
• Proven ability to lead complex, cross-functional technical investigations.

Responsibilities

• Lead RCCA and 8D/CAPA activities for semiconductor failures across AP/Global teams.
• Analyze and validate failure mechanisms using device physics and electrical/thermal characterization.
• Develop stress-testing and replication methods to reproduce failures and validate root causes.
• Assess reliability risks and interpret qualification results for supplier and product qualification.
• Interface with customers, suppliers and internal teams to drive corrective actions.
