Job summary

AECOM is seeking a Principal OHL Engineer to lead and engage with clients on technically challenging overhead line design projects up to 400 kV. You will provide project technical support, write proposals, and guide design activities across multidisciplinary teams.

The role encompasses PLS-CADD modelling, line routing, structural analysis, and rigorous feasibility studies, with opportunities to contribute to large programmes of work and regulatory compliance across transmission projects.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering is essential.
Experience delivering projects for transmission systems operators is preferred.
Chartered or Professional Engineer status (or working towards it) is preferred.
Proven ability to coordinate across disciplines and review detailed technical outputs to a high standard.

Responsibilities

Lead design of overhead transmission lines up to 400 kV.
Provide technical support and input throughout project implementation and planning.
Perform PLS-CADD modeling, line routing, and sag-tension calculations.
Prepare and check engineering deliverables such as reports, proposals, and drawings.
Support feasibility studies and regulatory compliance.
