Job summary
Infineon Technologies (Kulim) Sdn Bhd in Malaysia seeks a Principal Engineer WBG Technical Problem Solving Expert to lead problem-solving teams and support the WBG program with SiC and GaN technologies, contributing to development projects for the next generation of power semiconductors.
You will apply advanced problem-solving methods, deepen your technical expertise in materials, metallization, and frontend/backend integration, and collaborate with R&D partners across sites.
Qualifications
- A university degree in Material Science, Physics, Electric Engineering or a similar scientific-technical field
- Several years of semiconductor experience and strong problem solving methods
- Solid technical background in frontend/backend processing and integration
- Analytical and strategic mindset with high quality standards
- Knowledge of statistical methods and data assessment from quantitative or qualitative sources
- Ability to communicate in a cross-functional, multi-site, international environment; willingness to travel
Responsibilities
- Lead problem-solving teams and support the WBG-program with SiC and GaN
- Contribute to complex development or innovation projects for next generation power semiconductors
- Apply and improve problem solving methodology with strong analytical background
- Continuously enhance technical expertise in base material, metallization, chip frontside passivation and frontend/backend interaction topics
- Drive improvement projects during innovation, development, and product ramp-up
- Collaborate with R&D partners across divisions and external scientific partners

As Technical Problem Solving Expert Wide Band Gap (WBG, SiC and GaN), you will lead problem-solving teams and support the WBG-program with SiC and GaN technologies, contributing to complex development or innovation projects for the next generation of power semiconductors.

Contribute to complex development or innovation projects for the next generation of power semiconductors
Apply and improve problem solving methodology combined with strong analytical background
Continuously enhance technical expertise in the area of base material, metallization, chip frontside passivation and frontend/backend interaction topics
Drive improvement projects during the phase of innovation and development as well as during product ramp-up
Proactively collaborate with R&D partners in all divisions, Frontend & Backend unit process development, integration and innovation teams & external scientific partners
A university degree in Material Science, Physics, Electric Engineering or a similar scientific-technical field
Several years of working experience in semiconductor technologies including high motivation for applying problem solving methods, preferably already holding a valid Thinking 6 Sigma (T6S) certification
A solid technical background and expertise in semiconductor technologies, Frontend or Backend processing and integration
An excellent analytical and strategic mindset and strive for high quality standards
A deep knowledge of statistical methods and professional data assessment based on quantitative or qualitative data source
The ability to communicate effectively in a cross-functional, multi-site and international environment and the willingness to travel internationally on demand
