Infineon Technologies AG in Kulim, Malaysia, is seeking a Principal Engineer WBG Technical Problem Solving Expert to drive advanced silicon-based power semiconductor programs in a high-tech cleanroom environment.

You will lead problem-solving teams on SiC and GaN, contribute to next-generation development, apply robust methodologies, broaden technical expertise in materials, metallization, and front/back-end interactions, and collaborate with R&D partners across sites, with international travel

Formación

• University degree in a scientific-technical field (Materials Science, Physics or Electrical Engineering) is required.
• Several years of semiconductor tech experience and strong problem-solving skills.
• Solid technical background in frontend or backend processing and integration.
• Excellent analytical and strategic mindset with high-quality standards.
• Knowledge of statistical methods and data-driven decision making.
• Excellent cross-functional communication and willingness to travel internationally on demand.

Responsabilidades

• Lead problem-solving teams and support WBG program with SiC and GaN.
• Contribute to complex development or innovation projects for next-gen power semiconductors.
• Apply and improve problem-solving methodology with rigorous data analysis.
• Continuously enhance technical expertise in base material, metallization, passivation, and frontend/backend interaction.
• Drive improvement projects during innovation, development, and product ramp-up.
• Collaborate with R&D partners, frontend/backend unit processes, integration and external scientists.

Your role: Key responsibilities

• Lead problem-solving teams and support our WBG-program with SiC and GaN
• Contribute to complex development or innovation projects for the next generation of power semiconductors
• Apply and improve problem solving methodology combined with strong analytical background
• Continuously enhance your technical expertise in the area of base material, metallization, chip frontside passivation and frontend/backend interaction topics
• Drive improvement projects during the phase of innovation and development as well as during product ramp-up
• Proactively collaborate with R&D partners in all divisions, Frontend& Backend unit process development, integration and innovation teams & external scientific partners

Qualifications and skills

You are best equipped for this task if you have:

• A university degree in Material Science, Physics, Electric Engineering or a similar scientific-technical field
• Several years of working experience in semiconductor technologies including high motivation for applying problem solving methods, preferably already holding a valid Thinking 6 Sigma (T6S) certification
• A solid technical background and expertise in semiconductor technologies, Frontend or Backend processing and integration
• An excellent analytical and strategic mindset and strive for high quality standards
• A deep knowledge of statistical methods and professional data assessment based on quantitative or qualitative data source
• The ability to communicate effectively in a cross-functional, multi-site and international environment and the willingness to travel internationally on demand
