Job summary

Infineon Technologies Malaysia, a global leader in semiconductor solutions, seeks a Principal Engineer to lead risk interaction assessments and integrate front-end/back-end processes within the package platform.

You will drive BOM and process integration, mentor teams, and apply 8D/FTA/Fishbone methodologies to resolve complex issues while collaborating across functions to deliver cutting-edge chip technologies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering or related discipline.
• Familiarity with AI-enabled solutions and data-driven learning is a plus.
• Strong problem-solving using 8D, FTA, Fishbone and other root-cause methods.
• Solid knowledge of SMT manufacturing processes.
• Experience in semiconductor manufacturing or high-tech operations.
• Excellent stakeholder management and cross-functional collaboration.

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities in your new role

• Own and lead Risk Interaction Assessment and Mitigation work packages, ensuring the effective identification, evaluation, and management of integration-related risks.
• Drive the integration of unit processes, including Bill of Materials (BOM) and process integration within the package platform, encompassing risk assessments, process interaction studies, and process flow development.
• Serve as the primary technical interface for Front-End (FE) teams on FE/BE interaction and integration topics, ensuring effective cross-functional collaboration.
• Support pre-development activities for new chip technologies by providing technical expertise to enable future technology readiness.
• Lead and/or participate in 8D problem-solving activities to investigate, analyze, and resolve interaction-related issues.
• Provide technical guidance and support to project teams on process interaction and integration-related topics as required.

Qualifications And Skills To Help You Succeed

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Human Resources, Organizational Development, Learning & Development, or a related discipline.
• Familiarity with AI-enabled solutions, digital transformation initiatives, and data-driven learning methodologies is an advantage.
• Strong problem-solving skills with practical experience in structured methodologies and tools such as 8D, Fault Tree Analysis (FTA), Fishbone Analysis, and other root cause analysis techniques.
• Good knowledge and understanding of SMT manufacturing processes.
• Relevant experience in semiconductor manufacturing, high-tech industries, operations excellence, competency management, learning & development, or workforce capability development.
• Excellent stakeholder management and cross-functional collaboration skills.
