OneByZero seeks a Principal Architect to set architecture and engineering direction across multiple engagements in the Asia Pacific region. You will lead the design of large-scale, secure production systems for regulated enterprise clients and define platform architectures for complex AI-enabled solutions.

You will mentor senior engineers, drive AWS-based solutions, and champion responsible AI tooling across teams.

About the role

Principal Architect OneByZero is a Frontier Systems Integrator building agentic AI systems for leading banks, telecommunications companies, insurers, and retailers across Asia Pacific. We work on high-impact problems for institutions operating the financial and digital infrastructure of the region. The Principal Software Development Engineer I is a senior technical leader who sets architecture and engineering direction across multiple teams and engagements. The Principal SDE I tackles OBZ's most complex technical challenges, defines platform and solution architectures for enterprise AI systems in regulated environments, and elevates engineering capability across the firm. What You Will Do Define architecture and technical strategy across multiple engagements, platforms, and teams. Lead the design of complex, large-scale, secure production systems for regulated enterprise clients. Set engineering standards, reference architectures, and best practices adopted firm-wide. Mentor senior and staff engineers, and grow the technical bench across teams. Champion responsible, effective use of AI tools across engineering.

What you'll bring

What We Are Looking For 10 to 15 years of experience delivering and architecting production software at scale. Recognized depth in system design, distributed systems, and cloud-native architecture. Extensive AWS expertise, including security, networking, and enterprise deployment patterns. Track record setting technical direction across multiple teams or a business line. Experience in regulated industries (financial services, telco, insurance) is strongly valued. Strong influence, communication, and stakeholder leadership skills. Fluency in spoken and written English is required across all markets.
