Job summary

OpenText is seeking a Principal Architect within its Professional Services Practice to lead enterprise solution designs for strategic clients. You will collaborate with sales, product development, and delivery teams to craft end-to-end OpenText-based solutions that align with client roadmaps and future needs.

You will guide cross-functional teams, mentor senior engineers, and create high-quality demos for marketing and pre-sales opportunities, while traveling as project needs require.

The Opportunity

OpenText Professional Services Principal Architect Services Practice role focuses on working with our strategic clients and understanding their challenges, requirements and use cases around initiatives such as Solution implementation using OpenText suite of products through services delivery.

The Principal Architect designs impactful solutions and experiences that cross disciplines, bring together people and technology, and enable end-end enterprise implementation. They’re experts in enterprise architecture, software development, information security, and good understanding of OpenText suite of products. While collaborating with clients and sales, the Principal Architect will be required to dig deep with clients on their specific challenges, adopt the client mindset in all aspects, and help create detailed solutions for the client.

• Focusing on strategic client opportunities and delivering value to our clients
• Creating solutions which demonstrate the broader value of OTPS services solutions and at times in conjunction with strategic partners
• Working with Product Development and Leadership to shape client demands for product areas
• Developing cross functional team members according to the demands of the business and according to their individual professional goals
• Experience and understanding of multiple technical domains - application, data, integration, big data, mobility, analytics, BPM, CEM/CCM, etc.
• Facilitating and participating in the delivery of workshops, best practice and educational sessions with clients and partners
• Understanding the business requirements, proposing the solution considering the current and future roadmap of the client
• Offering design choices with pros and cons, and recommending the best design suited for the given context
• Identifying and managing the requirements and change requests effectively for consistent communication with all the stakeholders
• Designing and programming complex modules of an application, taking into consideration the functional and non-functional aspects
• Taking ownership of solution quality. Actively and effectively reviews design, source code, takes defect prevention steps in software development
• Providing high-level work estimates and assists in task planning and task allocation
• Mentoring technical architects and senior engineers within the team, guiding them in their work
• Being able to conceptualize and build high-quality demos for marketing or analyst briefings, pre-sales opportunities

What It Takes

• Possess strong problem solving, analytical, design and Business Consultant skills.
• Be strong in analysis and design with good work experience in Data analytics, business intelligence, BPM, CEM, ECM, reporting & data visualizations.
• Has exposure and experience in providing the best end user experience for data visualizations and dashboards
• Hands-on experience in Actuate-BIRT/BDA Analytics is preferred
• Experience in public sector, banking, financial services and insurance domains
• Familiarity with software development lifecycle and software estimation is a must
• As a technical leader, should be able to influence others in the team by clearly articulating the reasons and providing justifications for technical decisions made
• Must have experience in engaging and interacting with clients
• Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills. Must have a flair for clearly documenting design choices or technical decisions made
• Traveling within the country and abroad as per project needs
• Furthermore, Principal Architects possesses in depth technical knowledge on:
  • Service Oriented Architecture
  • W3C Standards, Object Orientation, JAVA, J2EE, Web 2.0 technologies
  • SQL, Software Development Methodologies
  • Databases, data modeling
  • Writing Technical Designs & Testing concepts
