Job summary

Coherent Corp. in Malaysia is seeking a skilled maintenance engineer to keep Front of Line equipment up and running, and to manage spare parts tracking in a high‑mix, high‑volume manufacturing environment.

You will work with the in‑house automation and process engineering teams on equipment upgrades, ensure safety, and maintain ISO records. Overtime may be required to support operations or manpower shortages.

Qualifications

• Diploma or equivalent in Mechatronic/Mechanical/Electrical/Manufacturing Engineering.
• Experience with testers or equipment configuring and troubleshooting.
• Experience in tester debugging or verification.
• Experience in high-mix, high-volume manufacturing environments.
• Good computer literacy and basic SPC knowledge.
• Strong analytical skills with hands-on attitude.
• Adaptable to rapid changes in business needs.
• Knowledge of mechanical dimensioning & tolerancing; poka‑yoke is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Ensure overall equipment uptime and reliability for Front of Line machines and fixtures.
• Willing to work overtime to support operations or manpower shortages.
• Track and replenish spare parts; update inventory.
• Collaborate with in-house automation for new equipment release, buy-off, and installation.
• Collaborate with process engineering on yield improvements related to machines and fixtures.
• Maintain safety first attitude and comply with ISO requirements.
• Maintain maintenance records per ISO standards; meet KPIs set by the section manager.
• Handover unfinished tasks to incoming shift to avoid duplication of effort.
