in Malaysia is seeking an experienced Site Engineer to supervise utility electrical and associated civil works, including substations, overhead transmission lines and underground power cable projects. The role requires interpreting drawings, coordinating permit-to-work, managing subcontractors, ensuring safety and QA/QC, and delivering daily progress reports from project sites, including outstation locations.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or Civil Engineering, depending on the assigned utility work package.
• Minimum 3 years of construction-site experience involving TNB or equivalent utility projects.
• Actual site execution experience on 132 kV or higher utility infrastructure projects.
• Experience supervising subcontractors, site measurements and quality inspections.
• Ability to interpret approved construction drawings and coordinate permit-to-work requirements.
• Familiarity with TNB or other Malaysian utility construction standards, site safety requirements and inspection procedures.
• Experience in substations, overhead transmission lines or underground power cable projects.
• CIDB site registration or relevant training is an advantage, subject to project requirements.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, daily progress reporting and site documentation.
• Must be based in Malaysia, legally eligible to work in Malaysia and willing to work full-time at assigned project sites, including outstation locations.

Responsibilities

• Supervise daily site construction activities, manpower, subcontractors, machinery and materials.
• Monitor construction progress against approved drawings, project schedules and work plans.
• Coordinate substation civil/electrical works, underground cable trenching and pulling, overhead line foundations and associated installations.
• Ensure work permits, method statements, approved drawings and necessary resources are available before work commences.
• Conduct site inspections, quality checks, measurements and verification of completed works.
• Coordinate QA/QC inspections, inspection and test plans, and corrective actions.
• Ensure compliance with site safety requirements, permit-to-work systems, lifting, excavation and electrical safety procedures.
• Monitor material usage, productivity, site constraints and subcontractor performance.
• Prepare daily progress reports covering manpower, equipment, completed quantities, photographs and outstanding issues.
• Maintain construction records, redline drawings, snag lists and as-built information.
