Job summary

G GRID is seeking a Health, Safety and Environment professional to lead safety initiatives and enforce standards across projects in Malaysia. The role focuses on implementing risk controls, conducting inspections, and ensuring compliance with DOSH and ISO 45001.

The ideal candidate holds a Diploma/Degree in Occupational Health & Safety with Yellow Book certification, strong communication skills, and the ability to work independently under pressure. Transmission project experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Degree or diploma in Occupational Health & Safety or equivalent.
• Yellow Book DOSH certification.
• Strong knowledge of Malaysian safety laws and ISO 45001.
• Thorough knowledge of health and safety legislation and practices.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Ability to identify hazards and implement corrective actions.
• Ability to work independently under pressure.
• Preferable: transmission project experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead safety initiatives to raise awareness and prevent accidents.
• Perform scheduled and unscheduled HSE inspections.
• Record non-compliance and report safety violations, preventing recurrence.
• Assist SHO with worker training and incident investigations.
• Supervise worksites to ensure safety procedures are followed and resolve HSE issues.
• Lead safety briefings for workers, contractors and visitors; conduct toolbox talks.
• Organise and act as secretary for employee safety committee meetings.
• Ensure proper PPE usage and maintain PPE issuance records.
• Monitor safety requirements, safe work procedures, and update HSE notice boards.
• Confirm emergency response plans and drills are understood and participated in.
• Handle other HSE tasks as directed by management.
