Job summary

Ametalin in Malaysia is seeking an R&D Engineer to lead research, development, evaluation and optimisation of polymer materials, adhesives and composite products used in manufacturing processes. The role focuses on polymer formulation, bonding performance, extrusion, coating and lamination applications, material compatibility and troubleshooting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor-level degree in a chemical/materials field.
• Hands-on lab experience in polymer materials and adhesives.
• Ability to translate lab findings into manufacturing solutions.

Responsibilities

• Testing and data analysis of polymer materials and finished products to meet specs.
• R&D to develop and optimise polymer formulations and adhesive systems for extrusion, coating and lamination.
• Evaluate polymer properties, material compatibility and bonding performance between substrates.
• Support scale-up of lab developments into commercial production and trouble-shoot process issues.
• Stay updated on polymer science trends and new materials for continuous improvement.
• Collaborate with suppliers/procurement on material evaluations and trials.
