Job summary

Alphawave-Innovations in Kuala Lumpur is seeking a Cloud Infrastructure Engineer to design, build, and operate scalable infrastructure for multi-environment deployments. You will implement CI/CD pipelines, manage Kubernetes platforms, and optimize cloud and on-premise resources.

The role requires 2–5 years of relevant experience, strong Linux administration, and expertise in containers, networking, security, and observability.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in IT, CS or a related discipline.
2–5 years of Cloud Infrastructure Engineering experience.
Strong Linux system administration experience.
Experience with Kubernetes, Docker and container orchestration.
Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automation.
Experience operating cloud platforms or hybrid environments.
Understanding of networking, DNS, load balancing and storage.

Job description

Design, build, and maintain infrastructure and platform foundations that support applications and services
Operate and manage systems and platforms across development, testing, and production environments
Design, implement, and operate CI/CD pipelines to enable reliable, repeatable, and automated application delivery
Build, operate, and optimize Kubernetes platforms and containerized applications to support microservices architectures
Plan and implement platform solutions with a cost-efficient mindset, leveraging appropriate cloud services and/or open-source technologies
Implement infrastructure and platform automation using Infrastructure as Code and CI/CD practices to standardize and streamline cloud or platform services
Design and manage network and platform components, including VPCs, network segmentation, load balancing, CDN, and related policies
Integrate platform logs and metrics with observability systems to enable monitoring, troubleshooting, and operational visibility
Enforce infrastructure security best practices, including system patching, access control, and vulnerability remediation
Troubleshoot infrastructure and platform issues, perform root cause analysis, and drive long-term corrective actions
Continuously improve platform scalability, reliability, and cost efficiency
Create and maintain infrastructure documentation, architecture diagrams, and operational standards

Job Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Information Technology, Finance, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
Candidates with 2–5 years of Cloud Infrastructure Engineering experience are encouraged to apply.
Strong hands‑on experience with Linux system administration (e.g. Ubuntu or other Linux distributions used by cloud providers)
Practical experience with Kubernetes, Docker, and container orchestration, including deployment, operations, and troubleshooting
Experience designing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines and automated delivery workflows
Hands‑on experience with Infrastructure as Code or platform automation practices (tool-agnostic)
Experience operating cloud platforms, private infrastructure, or hybrid environments
Solid experience with core cloud and infrastructure services, including networking, DNS, load balancing, storage, backup, and related components
Experience with CDN, infrastructure security, and compliance-related practices
Strong problem‑solving skills with the ability to independently diagnose and resolve platform issues
Good understanding of infrastructure security best practices and compliance
Experience designing and operating database infrastructure or database services as part of the platform, including deployment automation, backup strategies, high availability, monitoring, and integration wit applications.
Self-driven and proactive, able to quickly understand existing environments and deliver improvements with minimal supervision
