Job summary

AIA Malaysia is seeking a seasoned Cloud Engineer to design, deploy, and optimize scalable cloud platforms. The role involves migrating on-prem workloads, managing security and cost controls, and orchestrating cloud-based solutions with cross-functional IT teams.

You will work on vendor negotiations, patch management, and applying ITIL-based practices to ensure reliable, compliant cloud services across the organization.

Qualifications

• Degree in computer engineering or IT related field.
• 7+ years of experience in Cloud Environment and administration.
• 5+ years in service delivery management.
• Excellent knowledge of OS administration (Windows & Linux).
• Experience with listed software products (ServiceNow, WebSphere, OpenText, Ansible, Terraform, Bitbucket).
• Familiar with ITIL disciplines and project management.

About The Role

• Cloud engineer is an IT professional responsible for any technological duties associated with Cloud Infrastructure Services, including planning, management, maintenance and support.
• He/She require technical abilities to perform the migration, as well as the ability to negotiate terms with vendors, ensure security of the data, and implement best practices throughout the process.

Roles And Responsibilities

• Designing and deploying dynamically scalable, highly available and fault-tolerant on Cloud Platforms.
• Managing network-related, virtualization, compute, data, or security requirements accordance with company security guidelines on Cloud Platforms.
• Accountable for all patch management and products upgrade activities executed by Service Provider to ensure all systems are current.
• Managing and migrating on-premises workload and applications to Cloud.
• Adopting the best practices of Cloud architecture to support applications.
• Orchestrating and automating Cloud-based platforms throughout the organization.
• Communicate progress to management and work closely with IT teams to integrate existing structures into Cloud-based systems.
• Maintaining the usage of Cloud Services and implementing operational cost control strategies.
• Raises and manages Service Request and Change Request to ensure completion of requests.
• Participates in the Incident and Problem Management to review and identify the root cause of system incidences and provide resolutions to minimize unplanned system downtime.

Minimum Job Requirements

• Degree in computer engineering or IT related field with minimum 7 years of experience in Cloud Environment and administration.
• Minimum 5 years relevant experience managing service delivery professional.
• Excellent knowledge of OS systems administration such as Windows and Linux.
• Experience on software products such as ServiceNow, IBM WebSphere Application Server, RHEL JBoss, Broadcom Workload Automation, OpenText Case360/Execute360/Global360, Ansible, Terraform, Bitbucket, etc.
• Experience on Linux Shell Scripting will add advantage.
• Familiar with ITIL disciplines and project management.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and quickly drive resolution of issues.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
