Job summary

The Arkema Group in Malaysia is seeking a Plant Operator to support daily manufacturing activities at the Pasir Gudang site. The role involves raw material charging, packaging, filling operations, and waste handling to maintain product quality and safety.

You will also be responsible for housekeeping, following work instructions, and adhering to HSEQ policies. A forklift certification and basic calculation skills are required, with fluency in Bahasa Malaysia and English.

Qualifications

• Minimum SPM required.
• Proficient in Bahasa Malaysia and English.
• Certified forklift driver.
• Able to do simple calculations.

Responsibilities

• Carry out raw material charging as requested to ensure materials are loaded into the correct reactor and quantity.
• Top up half drums as requested by Shift Leaders to control stock.
• Carry out packaging/drumming as directed by Shift Leader to ensure correct product, packaging material and label.
• Perform filling operations for finished goods from storage tanks into tanker as per supervisor instructions.
• Handle wastes to ensure scheduled wastes are managed.
• Maintain housekeeping to keep the workplace safe, clean and tidy.
• Follow operating orders safely and efficiently in line with HSEQ objectives and targets.
• Wear PPE and follow health and safety instructions as required.

• • Carry out raw material charging activity as per requested by Technicians to ensure all the materials will be loaded into correct reactor and right quantity.
• • Ensure half drums are being topped up correctly as per requested by Shift Leaders in order to control half drums stock.
• • Carry out packaging/ drumming activity as per requested by Shift Leader to ensure correct product with the correct packaging material and label.
• • Carry out filling operation for finished goods from storage tanks into tanker as per requested by Supervisor/ Executives/ Leaders to ensure filling with correct product.
• • Carry out wastes handling operation to ensure all schedule wastes are being managed.
• • Carry out housekeeping to ensure work place is generally safe, clean and tidy at all time.
• • Ensure that operating orders from the superior are carried out in a safe, effective and efficient manner, in accordance with company and departmental HSEQ objectives and target.
• • Ensure that work instruction, working procedures are followed in order to ensure work is carried out smoothly and safe.
• • Take reasonable care for health and safety of himself and of other persons, to cooperate with superior, to wear or use personal protective equipment provided as appropriate and to comply health and safety instruction as stipulated under Section 24 OSHA 1994 and undertake the following loss control responsibilities;

1. Identify the potential hazards, gains and the possible improvement
2. Report the HSEQ near-misses, unsafe acts, and unsafe conditions to superior or HSE personnel.
3. Report the HSEQ incident, accidents to superior or HSE personnel.
4. Compliant with the policies, legal regulations, Arkema requirements, rules and procedures of one's sector applying to HSEQ.

Required Profile

QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

• • Minimum SPM.
• • Fairly good in spoken and written Bahasa Malaysia and English.
• • Certified forklift driver
• • Able to do simple calculations.
