Position Summary
The Primavera P6 Engineer is responsible for developing, maintaining, monitoring, and updating project schedules for Data Center construction projects. The role supports project execution through effective planning, progress tracking, resource analysis, delay identification, and reporting to ensure project milestones and contractual requirements are achieved.
The incumbent shall work closely with Project Managers, Construction Managers, Engineering Teams, Procurement Teams, and Subcontractors to ensure project activities are properly planned, coordinated, and controlled throughout the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
Project Planning & Scheduling
- Develop, maintain, and update detailed project schedules using Primavera P6.
- Prepare baseline schedules in accordance with project scope, contractual requirements, and project execution plans.
- Establish project Work Breakdown Structures (WBS), activity coding, calendars, and schedule logic.
- Integrate engineering, procurement, construction, testing, and commissioning activities into a master project schedule.
- Identify project critical paths and schedule risks.
Progress Monitoring & Control
- Monitor project progress against approved baseline schedules.
- Conduct weekly and monthly schedule updates with project teams.
- Analyze schedule variances and identify potential delays.
- Prepare recovery plans and mitigation strategies when schedule slippages occur.
- Track project milestones, deliverables, and critical activities.
Reporting & Analysis
- Prepare weekly and monthly project progress reports.
- Generate Primavera P6 schedule reports, S-Curves, manpower histograms, and earned value reports.
- Provide schedule performance analysis and recommendations to management.
- Prepare dashboard reports for project management and client meetings.
Coordination & Stakeholder Management
- Coordinate with Engineering, Procurement, Construction, QA/QC, Safety, and Commissioning teams to obtain project updates.
- Attend project coordination meetings and planning workshops.
- Liaise with subcontractors to obtain progress updates and verify schedule performance.
- Support client and consultant meetings regarding project planning and progress status.
- Identify schedule-related risks and opportunities.
- Assess impacts of variations, delays, and change orders on project schedules.
- Perform delay analysis and support Extension of Time (EOT) submissions when required.
- Maintain schedule records and supporting documentation for claims and contractual matters.
Data Center Project Support
- Support planning activities for Data Center projects including:
- Mechanical Systems
- Electrical Systems
- ELV/ICT Systems
- Integrated Systems Testing (IST)
- Client Handover Activities
Qualifications & Requirements
Education
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, Quantity Surveying, or related field.
Experience
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience in project planning and scheduling.
- Experience in Data Center, Industrial, Semiconductor, Power Plant, M&E, or EPC projects is preferred.
- Experience in Primavera P6 scheduling is mandatory.
Technical Skills
- Advanced proficiency in Primavera P6.
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Project, Excel, Power BI, and project reporting tools.
- Understanding of project control methodologies and scheduling principles.
- Knowledge of construction sequencing and commissioning activities.
- Familiarity with Earned Value Management (EVM) is an advantage.
