Job summary

China State Construction & Engineering Malaysia Sdn Bhd is seeking a Project Planner to oversee planning and scheduling across multiple sites, ensuring alignment with contract requirements.

Ideal candidate has a degree in engineering, at least 3 years of experience, proficiency in CPM, MS Project and Primavera P6, and fluency in English and Chinese; role involves CPM analyses, baseline updates, and coordination across departments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or above in Engineering Management, Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Construction Engineering Technology, or related field.
• Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in project planning, construction management, or multi-project coordination.
• Familiar with Malaysian project management practices and standard forms of contract (PAM, FIDIC).
• Knowledge of CIDB, DOSH, and BOMBA requirements related to construction projects.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project, and Primavera P6.
• Good command of spoken and written English and Chinese.

Responsibilities

• Oversee planning and scheduling across all projects.
• Coordinate fortnightly progress reports from multiple project sites.
• Develop, maintain, and monitor Project Master Schedules, Key Milestones, and Monthly/Weekly Construction Schedules in line with contract requirements.
• Perform CPM analysis, schedule logic development, and time impact assessments for all projects.
• Monitor overall project progress, identify delays, and provide early warning reports with recommended mitigation measures.
• Review contractors’ and subcontractors’ schedules and ensure alignment with project baseline programmes.
• Support Contracts and Commercial teams in Extension of Time (EOT) claims and delay analysis across projects.
• Attend coordination meetings and provide consolidated reporting on portfolio-wide schedule performance.
• Prepare and submit baseline schedules, updated schedules, reports, and presentations in English and Chinese when required.
