Job summary

Jobstreet Malaysia is seeking a materials planner to analyse customer demand data and production schedules to forecast future material requirements. The role focuses on maintaining accurate inventory levels, tracking stock, and ensuring materials are available when needed to support production.

Job description

Analyse customer demand data and production schedules to forecast future demand for materials and products.

Responsible for managing inventory levels, tracking stock levels, and making sure that materials are available when needed.

Control parts issuing to production according to assembly schedule and always maintain BOM data accuracy.

Update weekly store inventory and production WIP.

Create and manage PQ based on BOM list to ensure that the necessary materials are ordered in a timely manner to support production schedules.

Prepare master schedule to establish sequence and lead time of incoming parts arrival and production schedule to meet shipping dates according to sales forecasts or customer orders.

Work closely with various departments such as production, logistics, and procurement to ensure that materials are available when needed and to resolve any issues that may arise.

Coordinate with purchasing, engineering, logistic, production, quality management for updated BOM list.

Monitor inventory levels and associated costs to ensure that inventory is being used efficiently and effectively.

Continuously evaluate and improve inventory management processes to optimize inventory levels, reduce lead times, and improve overall efficiency.

Maintain accurate records of inventory levels, purchase orders, and other relevant data, and prepare reports for management and other stakeholders as needed.
