Kinabalu International School (KIS) is seeking an excellent Physics and Chemistry teacher to join our Secondary School from August 2027.

We are looking for more than strong examination results and excellent subject knowledge. We want a teacher who is intellectually curious, ambitious for every student, reflective about their practice and excited by the opportunity to contribute to a close-knit international school community.

The teacher we are looking for

The successful candidate will be an excellent classroom practitioner with strong subject knowledge in Physics and/or Chemistry and a genuine enthusiasm for science.

We are particularly interested in teachers who:

• have a proven record of successful teaching at IGCSE and A-Level, or equivalent post-16 programmes
• demonstrate excellent subject knowledge and the ability to make challenging scientific concepts accessible, engaging and relevant
• have experience preparing students successfully for external examinations and securing strong academic outcomes
• set high expectations while building positive, respectful relationships with students
• use practical work, investigation and enquiry effectively to develop students' understanding of science
• are reflective practitioners who actively seek to improve their teaching
• collaborate openly and positively with colleagues
• are willing to contribute to pastoral care, enrichment and the wider life of the school
• would embrace opportunities to develop STEM activities, competitions, clubs, projects or other co-curricular experiences
• bring energy, professionalism, good humour and a strong sense of community to their work.

The ability to contribute across both Physics and Chemistry would be highly desirable.

Applicants must hold a recognised teaching qualification and normally have a minimum of two years' successful teaching experience. Excellent spoken and written English is essential.

Contract
