Job summary

Axis Orthopaedic Specialist Center in Malaysia is seeking a Pharmacy Assistant to support daily medication preparation, packing and labeling under supervision. Familiarity with orthopaedic and GP medications is preferred, with at least 1 year of full-time healthcare experience.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year experience working full-time in healthcare.
• Familiarity with orthopaedic and GP medications preferred.
• Must be able to work under supervision and follow established procedures.
• Good accuracy and attention to detail required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with medication preparation, packing and labelling under authorised supervision.
• Check patient details and prepared medication against prescriptions, referring discrepancies to the responsible pharmacist or doctor.
• Explain approved medication instructions and refer clinical questions to qualified personnel.
• Provide general health education and approved information on nutrition and supplements within training and competence.
• Receive medication deliveries and check quantities, condition and expiry dates against purchase orders and invoices.
• Maintain accurate stock records and assist with regular stock counts.
• Monitor stock levels and prepare replenishment requests.
• Rotate stock using the first-expiry, first-out method and separate expired, damaged or recalled items.
• Store medications correctly and record storage temperatures where required.
• Maintain a clean, organised medication preparation area and clearly labelled shelves.
• Assist with medication billing, invoices and supporting documentation.
• Report medication errors, stock discrepancies and storage concerns promptly.
• Coordinate with doctors, nurses and other staff to support timely medication supply.
• Protect patient confidentiality and maintain accurate records.
• Perform other reasonable pharmacy support duties assigned within training and role scope.
