Role Description

The Pharmacy Assistant (Johor Bahru) is a full-time, on-site role based in Greater Johor Bahru. This position supports pharmacists in handling prescriptions, preparing and labeling medications, and verifying information with care and accuracy. The role includes serving customers at the counter, providing basic product and service information, and ensuring a friendly and professional experience. Day-to-day tasks also involve managing stock levels, organizing shelves, checking expiry dates, and assisting with inventory records. The Pharmacy Assistant will answer phone inquiries, coordinate with healthcare providers when required, maintain a clean and orderly work environment, and follow all pharmacy policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• Local only
• SPM / STPM / Diploma in Pharmacy or other related qualification
• Preferably more than 1 year of retail, healthcare, or customer service experience. Fresh graduates are welcomed! (prior pharmacy setting experience is a major plus).
• Ability to assist with prescription handling, medication preparation, and basic pharmacy operations.
• Strong customer service skills, with a focus on respectful communication and clear guidance.
• Good phone etiquette and professional handling of calls and inquiries.
• Experience or aptitude in inventory management, including stock checks and documentation.
• Attention to detail, reliability, and the ability to follow standard operating procedures.
• Basic computer literacy for point-of-sale and pharmacy management systems.
• Prior experience in a pharmacy or healthcare setting is an advantage.
• Ability to work scheduled shifts, including weekends or evenings as needed.
• Proficiency in English

Salary & Pay Structure

• Basic Salary: RM 2,500 - RM 3,500 per month (commensurate with qualifications and experience).
• Allowances & Incentives: Monthly attendance allowance, retail sales incentives, and target achievement incentives.
• Overtime (OT): Calculated strictly in accordance with the Malaysia Employment Act
