Job summary

HCL Technologies Malaysia SDN BHD is seeking a Performance Tester in Kuala Lumpur to join the Testing & Quality Assurance team on a full-time basis. Qualifications

• 3-5 years of experience in performance testing or a related QA role.
• Proficiency with performance testing tools such as JMeter, LoadRunner, Gatling or similar platforms.
• Strong understanding of performance testing concepts, including load, stress, spike and endurance testing.
• Experience with SQL and database performance tuning concepts.
• Knowledge of application performance monitoring (APM) tools and methodologies.
• Solid understanding of web technologies, HTTP protocols and client-server architecture.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
• Strong communication and documentation abilities.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure or GCP) and containerisation technologies is preferred.
• Knowledge of Agile and DevOps methodologies is beneficial.

About the role

We are seeking a Performance Tester to join HCL Technologies Malaysia SDN BHD on a full-time basis in Kuala Lumpur. This is a critical position within our Testing & Quality Assurance team, focused on ensuring that our software applications meet and exceed performance standards and user expectations. As a Performance Tester, you will play a vital role in identifying performance bottlenecks, optimising system reliability, and delivering high-quality digital solutions to our clients. This position is integral to our commitment to excellence and innovation in application performance.

What you'll be doing

Design, develop and execute comprehensive performance testing scripts and test cases using industry-standard tools and methodologies

Conduct load testing, stress testing, and endurance testing on web applications, databases and infrastructure to identify performance limitations

Monitor and analyse system performance metrics, response times and resource utilisation during testing activities

Document performance test results, creating detailed reports with findings, recommendations and proposed optimisations

Collaborate with development teams to troubleshoot performance issues and validate fixes and improvements

Identify performance bottlenecks and provide recommendations for system optimisation and scalability

Participate in performance testing planning and strategy development for new projects and releases

Maintain and update performance testing tools, scripts and frameworks to ensure they remain current and effective

Support the continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipeline by automating performance tests

What we’re looking for

3-5 years of experience in performance testing or a related quality assurance role

Proficiency with performance testing tools such as JMeter, LoadRunner, Gatling or similar platforms
