Job description

We are seeking a talented and enthusiastic Automation Tester – Selenium to join our dynamic team at HCL Technologies Malaysia SDN BHD. In this full‑time, Kuala Lumpur‑based role, you will be responsible for developing and executing automated tests using Selenium to ensure the quality and reliability of our cutting‑edge software applications.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain robust automation test suites using Selenium and other testing frameworks
• Code automated test for Web applications
• Code automated test for API
• Build automated testing framework
• Set up and configure a continuous testing process
• Ensure the quality of testing for all delivered developments and upgrades
• Liaise closely with all relevant parties to fully understand the functionality to be tested
• Provide accurate estimates for all work as required
• Provide sufficient detail to development to facilitate the optimal resolution of bugs and provide any further assistance required
• Effectively prioritize and meet deadlines
• Continuously improve the automation framework and identify ways to optimize test efficiency
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to understand application requirements and identify opportunities for automation
• Troubleshoot and debug automation scripts to identify and resolve issues
• Assist in the creation of detailed test plans, test cases and test reports
• Stay up‑to‑date with the latest trends and best practices in software testing and automation

Skill Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in information technology and/or other demonstrated learning path (e.g., Bootcamp) can be accepted
• Proven 2–6 years of experience as a QA Automated Testing – Selenium
• Proficiency in Gherkin/Cucumber
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Java (preferably) or optionally Angular/COBOL
• Understanding of automated testing tools and frameworks
• Experience with version control systems, preferably Git
• Experience with performance and load testing tools
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and integration tools
• Understanding of development processes associated with automation in testing
• Work experience in Finance, banking or insurance industry is preferred
• Certification – ITIL is a PLUS

Other Requirements

• ISTQB Certification in Software Testing is a plus
